The Competition

  1. The Competition consists of three stages: Preliminary Round.
    Semi Final and Final.
  2. For the Preliminary Round, as well as for the Semi Final and Final, the order of performance of the contestants will be determined by the drawing of lots.
  3. Each Duo must appear at the hall where the trials take place on the time communicated to them and in possession of an identification document.
  4. All rounds will be open to public.
  5. Before performing, the Duos must hand over a copy of the pieces to be performed to the Jury.

The drawing of lots

  1. Lots are drawn to determine the order of performance of the competitors. This will take place at a time appointed by the Board of the Competition.
  2. There will be no deviation from the order of performance as determined by the drawing of lots.

Preliminary Round

  1. Contestants must perform a program of maximum 20 minutes. The program is of free choice, but must include one piece or part of a piece, written no later than 1830. This piece may be a concert with transcription of the orchestral part for piano.

Semi Final

  1. No more than 8 duos will be admitted to the Semi Final.
  2. Contestants must perform a program of free choice. Only pieces originally written for the instruments of the Duo are allowed (transcriptions done by others than the composer are not accepted).
  3. The length of the program should be approx. 20-25 minutes.
  4. Pieces from the Preliminary Round may not be repeated.

Final

  1. No more than 3 Duos will be admitted to the Final.
  2. Contestants must perform a program of free choice. Only pieces originally written for the instruments of the Duo are allowed (transcriptions done by others than the composer are not accepted).
  3. The length of the program should be approx. 25-30 minutes.
  4. Pieces from the Preliminary Round or semi Final may not be repeated.

August 18: 1 p.m.-10 p.m. Arrival and Inscription Day
August 19 and 20 :9 a.m.-5 p.m. Preliminary Rounds
August 21: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Semifinal
August 22: 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. Final and Prize awarding
